Editor's note
This week I want to highlight a early sign of what I believe is to come.
TreeMetrics recently shared a short preview of its upcoming Crann Forestry Assistant - an AI tool that lets users query management data through natural language prompts. It’s early, but it points toward a broader trend we’re seeing far beyond forestry.
From OpenAI’s new integrations that let users search property listings or access Spotify with ChatGPT, to similar tools appearing across industries, one pattern is emerging: AI as a promptable layer on top of existing systems.
Forestry should stand to benefit more than most. We already work with vast, complex datasets and supply chains, making that information conversational could be transformative.
